Margaret Hamburg, the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, outlined last Thursday a new enforcement plan for the agency that is designed to speed response time, streamline processes and enhance coordination with regulatory partners. Hamburg highlighted six initial steps that FDA will take to hone the effectiveness and timeliness of FDA's regulatory and enforcement system.

"For our part, IDFA will continue to reinforce the good manufacturing practices and rigorous food safety protocols that are already employed by dairy processors," said Clay Hough, IDFA senior group vice president.
