To celebrate National Ice Cream Month, representatives of the ice cream industry joined IDFA President and CEO Connie Tipton for the NASDAQ Stock Market closing bell ceremony last Thursday. The event was broadcast live from the NASDAQ studio in Times Square by CNBC, Bloomberg and FOX, and a video featuring IDFA, the International Ice Cream Association and happy people eating ice cream ran on the seven- story marquee in Times Square.

Before ringing the bell, Tipton explained that President Ronald Reagan knew ice cream was more than a treat when he proclaimed July as National Ice Cream month in 1984. "The U.S. ice cream industry generates more than $21 billion in annual sales and provides jobs for thousands of people," she said. Read the news release here. Watch the ceremony here.
