Federal Order System Not Proper Tool for Producer Income Support

In his DairyLine radio broadcast earlier this month, IDFA Assistant Director John Rutherford explained the importance of using the right tools when it comes to producer income support programs. According to Rutherford, the federal order milk pricing system is not the proper tool, but federal officials continue to use it to inflate price factors and raise producer returns. DairyLine is heard on more than 90 radio stations, and Rutherford provides listeners with a processor perspective on industry issues during his broadcasts twice a month.
