PMMI Media Group, a division of PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, this week launched ProFood World, a new media brand that will serve the global food and beverage processing industry. The brand, which includes an online magazine and e-newsletters, will help to support ProFood Tech, the new food and beverage processing trade show powered by PACK EXPO, Anuga and IDFA.

ProFood World will feature news, trends, products and technologies in food safety, automation, processing, packaging, material handling and sustainability on its website and in e-newsletters. The brand also will include some printed products, including a ProFood Tech Showcase, which will provide comprehensive company profiles of exhibitors to pre-registered show attendees before the event.

Patrick Young is the publisher of ProFood World, and Joyce Fassl is the editor-in-chief. Young has 15 years of editorial expertise in the food and beverage industry and more than three decades of media experience overall. Fassl has covered the food and beverage processing industry for more than 20 years. Her new e-newsletter, “Joyce’s Voice,” has already reached an audience of 25,000 food and beverage processors.

“The ProFood World team will provide insight and support to the ProFood Tech show, ensuring we deliver the leading trade event for food and beverage processors and those who supply them,” said Charles Yuska, PMMI president and CEO.

“The dynamic conference program that IDFA has scheduled for ProFood Tech will feature recognized leaders in the food and beverage industry, the latest in consumer research and trends, and best practices in food processing and engineering,” said Neil Moran, IDFA senior vice president of finance, administration and trade show. “ProFood World will help to keep these topics in the forefront by exploring related innovations and implications before, during and after the event.”

ProFood Tech will be held April 4-6, 2017, in Chicago. Booth space reservations have surpassed 113,000 square feet, and nearly 250 suppliers have committed to exhibit at the show. Attendee registration will be available this fall.
