IDFA has heard that the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services will release the latest version of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans on Thursday morning. The Guidelines were expected to be released in December, but the agencies decided to wait until January, noting that many Americans are focused on healthy eating and exercise around the New Year.

The Dietary Guidelines are the official recommendations of the federal government about how Americans should eat, and federal programs, including school meals, are required to align with them.
