USDA to Eliminate Print Version of Dairy Industry Periodical

The Dairy Grading Branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) plans to stop issuing printed versions of "Dairy Plants Surveyed and Approved for USDA Grading Service" with the October 2006 issue. The publication will continue to be available online at www.ams.usda.gov/dairy/pltbk797.pdf. Before making a final decision, the Dairy Grading Branch is soliciting comments or questions from industry participants until December 1, 2006. Members may send comments to Philip.Wolff@usda.gov. Published quarterly since 1966, the publication provides a list of sources for approved dairy ingredients, along with the names of dairy plants with processing or packaging operations that meet USDA requirements.
