Champaign, Illinois—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Sanjeev Anand as the 2018 recipient of the International Dairy Foods Association Teaching Award in Dairy Manufacturing. The award was presented on Monday, June 25, 2018, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The International Dairy Foods Association Teaching Award in Dairy Manufacturing was created to recognize outstanding teaching of undergraduate students in dairy foods. The winner must have demonstrated outstanding ability as a teacher of undergraduate students of dairy foods in an accredited college or university and be an active teacher when nominated with not less than a total of 10 years of active teaching preceding. The winner must also be and have been a member of ADSA for at least five successive years.

Sanjeev Anand is a well-recognized dairy science professional with 34 years of teaching and research experience in microbiological quality and safety of dairy foods. He holds MS and PhD degrees in dairy microbiology. He joined South Dakota State University in 2006 as an assistant professor of dairy manufacturing and earned the rank of professor in 2014. For more than a decade Anand has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in dairy and food microbiology, which deal with critical aspects of dairy manufacturing. He has trained and advised numerous undergraduate and graduate students, several of whom are now dairy professionals.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and the International Dairy Foods Association present Sanjeev Anand with the 2018 International Dairy Foods Association Teaching Award in Dairy Manufacturing.
