IDFA has learned from Food and Drug Administration officials that FDA will only test for Listeria monocytogenes in its new sampling assignment for blue cheeses.

FDA has already started testing and is planning to collect approximately 200 samples of packaged product from retail stores as well as production and storage facilities.

FDA will be testing both domestically produced and imported blue cheeses.
