This Sunday, July 16, the nation will celebrate the 33rd National Ice Cream Day. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan dedicated the third Sunday of July to America’s favorite summertime treat.

This year, IDFA will join the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, to celebrate National Ice Cream Day on July 17 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Eastern time just outside USDA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Members of the International Ice Cream Association are donating the ice cream, which will be served at this public event to showcase and celebrate America’s favorite confection.

IDFA encourages members to follow @dairyidfa on social media for live updates, and to share their own celebrations of the day with socialmedia@idfa.org.
