Drawing from a pilot study of dairy processors, the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy® yesterday released a set of voluntary best practices for enhanced dairy traceability.

The practices were designed by processors to increase global competitiveness, help meet future requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act and quickly isolate products in the rare event of a safety issue.

Five processors, accounting for more than 20 percent of U.S. milk production, have committed to adopting the practices. Read more here.
