Final regulations implementing the major provisions of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), including new regulations for inspections, will be issued this coming August. When compliance enforcement starts in the fall of 2016, companies will be required to conduct a comprehensive hazard analysis, establish risk-based preventive controls and verify their suppliers preventive controls as part of the inspection process. With these new requirements comes a new paradigm for FDA—and state agency—inspections. Dairy food manufacturers and their suppliers should expect, and already be planning for, drastic changes, for both Grade “A” and non-Grade “A” plant inspections. This webinar, targeted at food safety/regulatory affairs professionals and quality assurance personnel, helped participants gain critical insight into FDA plans for conducting FSMA inspections and learn how to be prepared when FDA comes knocking on the door.
