Levels of HACCP Certification
IDFA Offers Four Levels of HACCP Certification
The IDFA HACCP Certification Program is offered at four different levels so you can choose the level of involvement that suits your specific needs.
- Individual Certification
- In-Plant HACCP Consultation
- Program Certification
- Comprehensive Certification
1st Level – Individual Certification
IDFA will provide a certificate stating that the person has successfully completed IDFA's HACCP training program, has passed a rigorous exam on accepted HACCP principles and procedures and is qualified to develop and implement a HACCP program. This certification process includes:
- IDFA HACCP software package, HACCPPlan.net
- IDFA Dairy HACCP Manual
- IDFA Juice HACCP Manual
- IDFA HACCP Reference Manual
- Off-Site Short Course Training (one participant)
Cost: $1,995 per member participant, and only $795 for each additional participant from the same plant. $2,500 per non-member participant, and $995 for each additional participant from the same plant.
2nd Level – In-Plant HACCP Consultation
Some plants don't feel ready for certification but would like an expert consultation in preparation for implementing or improving a HACCP program. IDFA offers a consultation to determine your plant's progress in developing and implementing a HACCP program and will work with your plant’s HACCP Team. IDFA HACCP software and manuals are included. (NOTE: In-plant HACCP consultation does not result in IDFA HACCP Certification.)
Cost: $4,995 per member plant, $6,995 for non-member plants, plus travel expenses for auditor for a two-day consultation. (Pricing could vary, depending on the length of the audit, which will be pre-determined by the auditor and plant.)
3rd Level – Program Certification
In this level of service, your plant HACCP program will be certified by IDFA, along with the staff member trained under our program. IDFA will provide a certificate stating that the HACCP program in your plant has successfully passed an IDFA HACCP audit and, if properly maintained, the program will comply with federal and state standards and most third-party audits. IDFA also will certify that the lead individual who was trained is qualified to develop and implement a HACCP program. Certification from IDFA can improve company relationships with customers and federal and state regulatory officials, increase the marketability of your product and decrease the chances of a product recall.
This certification process includes:
- IDFA HACCP software package, HACCPPlan.net
- IDFA Dairy HACCP Manual
- IDFA Juice HACCP Manual
- IDFA HACCP Reference Manual
- Off-Site Short Course Training (one participant)
- One-time written review of prerequisite program and HACCP plan for two products (via mail)
- One-time onsite audit and written audit report by IDFA staff
- IDFA HACCP Program Certification after a successful audit of plant procedures, with plaque for company
Cost: $7,995 per member plant, $9,995 for non-member plants, plus travel expenses for auditor.
4th Level – Comprehensive Certification
At this premier level of the IDFA HACCP Certification Program, all of your HACCP team or other designated individuals, as well as your plant's HACCP program, will be eligible for certification by IDFA. Plus, IDFA will stand by you through announced third-party audits or regulatory inspections and will serve as your HACCP partner. Having IDFA by your side through the ever-changing compliance process will protect your brand image, help you retain and expand your customer base and help prevent costly fines or recalls that result from a failed inspection.
This certification process includes:
- All IDFA software and manuals (including updates)
- Off-Site Short Course Training (one participant)
- Annual one-day, on-site training workshop for plant personnel
- Annual written review of Prerequisite Program and HACCP plan for four products (via mail)
- Annual onsite inspection and written review of plant HACCP programs
- Renewed program certification, with a successful annual audit, with updated plaque for company
- IDFA staff member present for one announced state, federal or customer-driven inspection per year
Cost: $9,995 annually for members, $11,995 for non-members, plus travel expenses for auditor. For more information, contact IDFA's meetings registrar at (202) 220-3557 or info@idfahaccp.org.
