Acting Secretary of Agriculture to Address Attendees at Dairy Forum The development of the new Farm Bill is sure to be one of the topics that Acting Secretary of Agriculture Chuck Connor will share when he addresses attendees next week at IDFA’s Dairy Forum in La Quinta, Calif. Conner, who grew up on an Indiana farm, joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2005 as deputy secretary of agriculture and was named acting secretary earlier this year. In these roles, he actively participated in the department’s Farm Bill forums held around the country and led the review of more than 4,000 comments that were used to determine the administration’s perspective on the Farm Bill.
