EU Toughens Stance on Labeling Compliance for U.S. Dairy Exports The European Union is starting to take a tougher stance on labeling compliance for U.S. dairy product imports. In some cases, EU officials refused to accept shipments because the labels did not include two required identification marks: the EU approval number for the plant where the product was manufactured and the name of the country where the plant is located. In other cases, the container number and/or seal numbers were not included as required on the EU Health Certificate. "We recommend that U.S. dairy exporters double check to make sure they have met all EU requirements before sending shipments to Europe," said Helen Medina, IDFA manager for international affairs.
