USDA Reconvenes Hearing on Proposed Amendments to Federal Orders

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reconvened a national public hearing in Pittsburgh, Pa., on July 9 to consider proposals seeking to amend the Class III and IV product price formulas applicable to all federal orders. IDFA Chief Economist Bob Yonkers provided additional testimony at the hearing, in which he elaborated on points made in the previous installments of the hearings. The hearing covered proposed amendments 1 through 20 as published in the original hearing notice on February 9 and the supplemental notice on February 20 in the Federal Register. The public hearing began on February 26 in Strongsville, Ohio, and initially reconvened on April 9 in Indianapolis, Ind.
