American Beverage Association and International Dairy Foods Association Agree on Collaborative Effort for InterBev 2006 and Worldwide Food Expo 2007

(June 29, 2006 — Washington, DC ) The American Beverage Association (ABA) and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) have agreed to take an active role in each other's tradeshows. IDFA and Worldwide Food Expo are endorsing the ABA-sponsored InterBev 2006 this fall in Las Vegas, and ABA is endorsing IDFA's Worldwide Food Expo 2007 in Chicago.

As part of the alliance, both ABA and IDFA will promote each other's events with their membership and stakeholders, and will also offer exclusive programming at each event geared toward beverage and dairy audiences. The associations will each host prominent pavilions at the other's show.

InterBev and Worldwide Food Expo have in common that they are both customer-owned tradeshows, which ensures a strong showing of buyers focused on suppliers to these industries.

"We welcome IDFA and Worldwide Food Expo in their endorsement of InterBev 2006," said ABA President and CEO Susan Neely. "We believe the rhythm of InterBev and WWFE in alternate years gives ABA members an annual opportunity to keep pace with new beverage introductions and technology innovations."

"There is a great fit between these two shows," added IDFA President and CEO Connie Tipton. "Worldwide Food Expo attracts a growing number of beverage leaders, and InterBev provides a perfect even-year forum for those companies, as well. It makes sense to offer beverage manufacturers and marketers cutting-edge innovations and technical education at both of these world-class events."

ABA recently re-acquired InterBev, which will be held October 23-25, 2006, at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. More information can be found at www.InterBev.com. InterBev is dedicated to the entire beverage industry, including producers and distributors of soft drinks, beer, bottled water, juice, ready-to-drink tea, milk, sport drinks, wine, distilled spirits and powdered drinks. InterBev attracts beverage industry professionals including: owners, CEOs, sales and marketing professionals, packaging and process engineers, production managers, marketing, warehousing, distribution managers, and R&D personnel.

Worldwide Food Expo (WWFE) will take place October 24-27, 2007, at McCormick Place in Chicago. Exhibit information is currently available at www.idfa.org. WWFE is the largest food and beverage processing and packaging event in the Western Hemisphere, covering more than a million square feet of exhibits and featuring 1,200 of the world's leading suppliers. More than 25,000 attendees from 100 countries visit the show to learn about new technologies, trends and ideas. WWFE features two co-located events: the IDFA Food, Dairy & Beverage Exposition and the AMI International Meat, Poultry & Seafood Convention and Exposition.
