Worldwide Food Expo '05 Posts a Great Success
(Chicago October 29, 2005) The sponsors of Worldwide Food Expo 2005 today reported that this year's event has been a great success, hosting more than 25,000 attendees from 100 countries around the globe. The biennial, global food technology event, which ran from last Wednesday through today, is sponsored by the American Meat Institute (AMI), the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the International Association of Food Industry Suppliers (IAFIS).
The show featured 1,100 exhibitors on more than one million square feet of floor space. Attendance continued to reflect the show's growing popularity among food and beverage manufacturers, packers and processors across many categories of products.
"The show continues to draw a high number of qualified buyers, due we think to the quality of the exhibits, the terrific programming and the fact that this is clearly the show for staying abreast of food and beverage processing technology," said IDFA President and CEO Connie Tipton.
Added AMI President J. Patrick Boyle, "Attendance at this year's show affirms that Worldwide Food Expo continues to be a world-class show that offers solid value for attendees." He noted that a quarter of the processor/packer attendees were from countries outside the United States reflecting the global appeal of the event.
"We made a special effort this show to draw in more plant operations and engineering attendees and it really worked, with hundreds of these professionals in our training programs and talking with exhibitors about manufacturing innovations on the show floor," said IAFIS President and CEO Steve Schlegel.
Worldwide Food Expo 2007 will be held October 24-27 in Chicago. For more information on Worldwide Food Expo, go online to www.worldwidefood.com.
