IDFA, Chr. Hansen Offer Cultured Dairy Industry Update on Innovations, Technologies and Trends
Exhibit Sales Now Open for 2002 Cultured Dairy Products Conference

(Washington, D.C. - March 18, 2002) For the fourth year in a row, the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and Chr. Hansen, Inc. are joining forces to present the Cultured Dairy Products Conference, May 14-15, at the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee, Wis. This program will feature industry-specific educational topics, including new cultured dairy product developments, nutritional research and consumer market trends. In addition, the conference will showcase an exhibition of technologies, products and services available to this dynamic dairy foods segment.

The two-day event will offer intensive technical programming that explores the current marketing landscape for cultured dairy, new regulatory issues for biosecurity and product standards, and innovative technologies now available for this dairy market. The conference program also includes a special, three-part session entitled "Nutritional Research: Beyond Bones." This session will review the latest dairy nutritional research, with an emphasis on marketing health claims for yogurt.

The Cultured Dairy Products Conference is designed for people that need to keep track of the cultured dairy market: industry executives, product development personnel, plant managers, R&D/QA professionals and operations staff. The conference registration rate is $595 per person (a discount is available if a company sends three or more registrants.) A complete agenda and registration form can be found here. For more information, contact Beverly Posey at bposey@idfa.org, 202/220-3557.

This year's conference is expected to attract about 200 industry leaders, including major purchasers of equipment, ingredients, services and supplies. Suppliers interested in exhibiting are encouraged to reserve exhibit space today for this targeted program, the industry's only cultured dairy specific meeting this year. The exhibition fee is $950, which includes registration for one person; to sign up, companies should contact Ellen Brophy, ebrophy@idfa.org, 202/220-3527.
