Earlier this fall, IDFA introduced a powerful new economic impact tool that quantifies the economic stimulus that dairy products provide, both nationally and locally. It revealed a powerful picture of how the dairy foods industry supports the U.S. economy by creating skilled jobs, contributing to the federal and local tax base and providing opportunities for suppliers and countless others in the supply chain.

"The response to this new resource has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Dave Carlin, IDFA senior vice president of legislative affairs and economic policy.  “We’ve heard from both dairy and agricultural leaders that the depth and breadth of the information is impressive and very useful in a variety of applications.”

The interactive tool, which can break down the number of jobs, wages, taxes and overall economic impact all the way down to congressional districts, offers data that was not previously available. IDFA has made it accessible to members and non-members alike at IDFA.org.

To date, the site has been used nearly 1,200 times.

Because the tool delivers previously unavailable data; delivers the ability to demonstrate the power of dairy; and will continue to deliver real value for our members as it is kept updated, IDFA has given it a new name: Dairy Delivers: The Economic Impact of Dairy Products.
