Rylee Sterrett, a recent graduate of Michigan State University, joins the IDFA team this summer as an intern in the Regulatory Affairs Department. For the next three months, Sterrett will assist IDFA’s regulatory team on special projects, research and events, including IDFA’s Regulatory RoundUP next week.

“We are thrilled to announce that Rylee Sterrett will be joining the IDFA team,” said Cary Frye, IDFA vice president of regulatory and scientific affairs. “As our summer intern, Rylee will work in tandem with our regulatory staff on key dairy issues related to labeling, nutrition, food safety, sustainability and worker safety and become familiar with the association’s efforts to shape regulations.”

Sterrett holds a bachelor’s degree in food science and previously worked as a quality intern for Schreiber Foods Inc., where she gained experience in food safety best practices. She is also certified in the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) approach to identifying, evaluating and controlling food safety hazards.

Sterrett is the first candidate to be selected for IDFA’s Summer Internship Program, which launched this spring.
