U.S. Exports Continue Gains, IDFA Market Update Shows

Apr 19, 2017
With reduced production in Europe and Oceania and high U.S. production pushing prices downward, U.S. exports became more competitive across the board toward the end of last year and in the first quarter of 2017, according to the International Market Update recently prepared by William Loux, IDFA coordinator of regulatory and international affairs, for the IDFA Trade Committee.

These factors, combined with resurging Chinese and Southeast Asian demand, especially in liquid milk and whey milk protein, should continue to boost U.S. exports, which were up 14 percent in February over last year, Loux said.
