David Wasserman, election analyst for The Cook Political Report, has been added to IDFA’s Advocacy Days program, June 14-15 in Washington, D.C. In this unusual election year, with Democrats hopeful about re-taking control of the Senate, Republicans determined to maintain their majorities and potential down-ballot implications of both parties’ presumptive presidential nominees, Wasserman’s presentation is sure to be a must-see.

Wasserman analyzes the current political environment in a lively and entertaining presentation. His data-driven forecasts look at both national and local politics, the relationship between consumer brand loyalty and voting and what the future holds for American elections. Members participating in Advocacy Days will get a true “lay of the land” to prepare them for their subsequent Hill visits.

“I have had the opportunity to hear David speak several times over the years and his depth of knowledge on elections and the political process is astounding,” said Ashley Burch, IDFA director of political programs. “Given the current state of play, I cannot think of a more appropriate time to have a front row seat for his witty analysis and prognostications. This will be a real treat for Advocacy Days attendees!”

IDFA’s Advocacy Days, formerly known as Washington Conference, is the dairy industry’s popular legislative fly-in. It will be held at the Renaissance Downtown Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C. The event provides an opportunity for access to and networking with members of Congress and administration and regulatory representatives.

In her President’s Address at this year’s Dairy Forum in January, Connie Tipton, IDFA CEO and president, said “involvement is imperative. Communicating our positions on issues that are important to us personally and to our businesses to the incoming administration and political leadership will be essential to a better path forward.”
