“Mission Apolo: BUILT WITH CHOCOLATE MILK” is officially underway, starting with the training and recovery journey of Apolo Ohno, world-champion short-track speed-skating legend, and Jen Ator, fitness director for Women’s Health magazine. In a multi-part web series, Ohno’s journey is documented as he travels the road to Kona, Hawaii, where he will be participating in the IRONMAN® World Championship in October.

The initiative is presented by the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) to show how recovering with chocolate milk helps Ohno get the most out of each workout.

In Episode 2 of the series titled “Building a Foundation,” Ohno and Ator take to the waves with Team CHOCOLATE MILK athlete and six-time IRONMAN® champion Luke McKenzie for a  fun surfing lesson; it serves as a reminder of the importance of balance when maintaining an active lifestyle. Viewers will get an inside look as Ohno, Ator and McKenzie take on a challenging track workout in sweltering heat and learn why McKenzie trusts chocolate milk for his recovery.

Ohno and Ator then will join nutritionist Wendy Bazilian, DrPH, RD, for a discussion on how to properly fuel their bodies for sport and exercise. Bazilian will share tips on her favorite foods to eat before, during and post exercise. Naturally, one of her favorites is chocolate milk.

As each new “Mission Apolo: BUILT WITH CHOCOLATE MILK” episode is released, MilkPEP encourages companies to share them on social media channels to help spread awareness about the recovery benefits of low-fat chocolate milk.
