The Food and Drug Administration announced on Friday that it would extend the comment periods for two proposed rules affecting the Nutrition Facts panel.
The first rule would affect virtually every dairy product with revisions to nutrition and supplement facts labels, and the second would update to serving sizes for some.
In a letter sent last month, IDFA asked FDA for the extension to allow more time to provide feedback and analysis. The new deadline is August 1, 2014.
