IDFA, NMPF Oppose Efforts in California to Allow Raw Milk Sales

Apr 09, 2014

IDFA and the National Milk Producers Federation sent a joint letter last week to state assembly members in California, urging them to oppose legislation that would remove existing regulations that prohibit the state-wide sale of raw milk to consumers.

The letter outlined the dangers associated with drinking unpasteurized milk and highlighted several prominent health organizations that oppose it, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Member with questions about state legislative issues may contact Kyle Shreve, IDFA manager of legislative affairs, at kshreve@idfa.org or (202) 220-3533.
