FDA’s Taylor to Speak at Food & Ag Conference in May

IDFA and several other organizations are collaborating to promote the Food & Agriculture 2014 National Conference scheduled for May 14 in Minneapolis. Presented by Faegre Baker Daniels, an international law firm, the conference will bring together senior business executives, in-house counsel, industry regulators, national trade association representatives and academic leaders to discuss topics from field to fork.

Featured speakers include Michael Taylor, deputy commissioner for foods at the Food and Drug Administration, and Ramona Romero, general counsel for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Clay Detlefsen, IDFA vice president of regulatory affairs and co-chair of the Food and Agriculture Sector Coordinator Council, will provide an update on the latest issues pertaining to food defense.

Other topics of discussion will include the Food Safety Modernization Act, consumer fraud class action litigation, supply chain management, social media and brand protection, OSHA enforcement actions, animal health, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), strategies for doing business in China, nutrient regulation, agribusiness bankruptcies, and immigration and global mobility.
