June Fly-In Offers Perfect Timing for Hill Visits; Register Today!

May 15, 2013

Have you registered yet for IDFA's Washington Conference?

The industry’s popular legislative fly-in, scheduled for June 19-20, in Washington, D.C., will be held at the Phoenix Park Hotel, conveniently located on Capitol Hill and close to major Washington attractions. The conference program will include a briefing by IDFA’s top policy experts on pending legislation that will affect dairy companies and face-to-face meetings with members of Congress and administration officials.

"The chairs of both the Senate and House agriculture committees have committed to passing a new Farm Bill before the current bill expires at the end of September," said Jerry Slominski, IDFA senior vice president of legislative and economic affairs. “That makes June a perfect time for you to visit Capitol Hill to let your congressmen know what's important to you and your company.”

The conference will conclude with the 31st Annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party. More than 6,000 members of Congress, Hill staffers, Washington insiders and IDFA members attended the “coolest” event on the Hill last year.

IDFA encourages members to register today and to take advantage of the special room rate for the Phoenix Park Hotel. The room block at the hotel will close May 27, so be sure to make reservations soon.

Members with questions about the conference agenda may contact Ashley Burch, IDFA assistant director of political programs, at aburch@idfa.org or (202) 220-3534.

For information about registration or hotel reservations, contact Maria Velasco, IDFA meetings assistant, at mvelasco@idfa.org or (202) 220-3524.
