Thousands of congressional members and their staff poured out of the Capitol and surrounding office buildings during record temperatures on Thursday for the coolest party and treats on the Hill. IDFA's 30th Annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party served more than 6,000 bowls of ice cream and 1,600 root beer floats, using 1,500 gallons of ice cream and 44 cases of sundae toppings.

The party was the perfect ending to IDFA's two-day legislative fly-in, Washington Conference, which drew scores of dairy executives to D.C. They made a total of 136 visits to congressional offices to discuss dairy policy issues and the 2012 Farm Bill.

IDFA would like to thank the following Ice Cream Party sponsors for their generous donations, which helped to make the event such a great success. A list of all the delicious ice cream flavors is available here.
