The Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Agriculture today hosted a public workshop at the University of Wisconsin in Madison to examine competition and regulatory issues in the dairy industry. This workshop is one in a series of meetings the departments are holding to review the livestock, grain, produce and dairy industries.

Bob Yonkers, IDFA vice president and chief economist, attended the hearing and participated in one of three panel discussions. Attorney General Eric Holder, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and Christine Varney, assistant attorney general in the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, also attended the hearing, along with the governor and several legislators.
