USDA Issues New Rule Amending MILC Program, Price Support Regulations

Dec 08, 2008

The U.S. Department of Agriculture last week published a new rule that amends the regulations for the Milk Income Loss Contract (MILC) Program as authorized by the 2008 farm bill. The rule also adjusts the Milk Price Support Program regulations to specify that the government will only make support purchases from manufacturers and not from third parties, such as brokers. The effective date for the rule is December 1, 2008.
