About Policy & Politics

Policy & Politics Blog offers insight and analysis on activities and elections that have an impact on dairy policy. The blog is written by Connie Tipton, IDFA president and CEO, and Ashley Burch, IDFA director of political programs

Called "one of the most formidable lobbyists in Washington" by Association TRENDS magazine, Tipton has led successful legislative campaigns to lessen government involvement in regulations that reduce dairy product marketability. She joined IDFA in 1981 and has been a senior executive for more than 20 years.

Ashley Burch manages IDFA’s political involvement programs, including the Ice Cream, Milk & Cheese PAC; the GrassRoots Action Network for Dairy (GRAND); and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) activities. She also oversees Washington Conference, IDFA’s annual legislative fly-in.
