Membership Briefings

Membership Briefings Bring IDFA’s Successes to Life

It's a new era in Washington, DC, and IDFA is proud to share several success stories with you. Join us for the next membership briefing to learn the many ways IDFA is working to reduce regulations, bring needed policy changes through legislation and open new markets for members.

Membership briefings are scheduled three times a year to provide updates on issues that are, or will be, affecting your business. All members are welcome to participate. IDFA’s subject matter experts and member services staff will outline timely issues, their impact on dairy companies, IDFA’s action steps and ways members can participate in shaping the outcome.

We offer one briefing for issues affecting fluid milk, cultured products, ice cream, milk ingredients, and infant formulas, and another for cheese, whey powders, and other ingredients. Looking ahead to 2019, one briefing, instead of two, will be scheduled three time per year and will ensure topics are relevant to you. In the past year, we’ve provided good news on milk varieties in schools, progress on the farm bill, ultrafiltered milk, definition of natural cheese, extensions for compliance with Nutrition Facts labeling changes, increased protections for common food names, Codex decision to discontinue process cheese standard and the strength of Dairy Delivers, IDFA’s economic impact tool, to enhance our efforts on global trade, to name a few.

The one-hour briefings are presented through WebEx, a web conferencing platform that allows us to share visuals and videos to support the audio portion of the briefing. Since this is a members-only opportunity, you must log in to the IDFA website to access WebEx instructions. We encourage employees in all job functions to participate because the briefings offer an excellent opportunity to engage on the issues that are important to you and your company. You can get answers to questions immediately, using the chat function.

The agendas and WebEx instructions will be posted here two weeks in advance of each briefing. We’ll also send a reminder e-mail to all members one week in advance. If you are not already receiving these reminders, please contact membership@idfa.org to be added to the distribution list.
