IDFA has partnered with Registration and Licensing Systems, Inc. to develop a new service for the dairy and food industry to help companies comply with the requirements of the Bioterrorism Act of 2002. The regulations mandate that all food facilities must be registered with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by December 12, 2003. IDFA's new online facilities registration service makes compliance quick and easy.
Although FDA intends to have its own online registration service available at no cost, the new IDFA service provides an attractive and convenient option to have an expert and experienced company handle all aspects of registration, and help companies keep their registrations in compliance. The RLS site is available in Spanish, French and Portuguese in addition to English. Once registered with RLS, companies will automatically receive updates should any FDA regulations or requirements changes, as well as regular reminders to update their information should any facility information change.
Added services, available through this service:
- Simplified entry process -- much, much easier to use than FDA's
site
- Email reminders every 60 days to update information, as required by FDA.
- Users with multiple facilities can upload batch files, instead of entering them one-by-one.
- IDFA's site is password protected and all information is completely confidential
- This service allows the user to "park" - stop half way through, save their work and return to the registration process at a later time.
- The new system will provide verification of your compliance to 3rd parties for free.
For only $350, you can register your facility with FDA and receive all these additional services. This is a $50 discount available through IDFA. Significant discounts are available for multiple facilities.

Attention Foreign Facilities!
The new FDA regulations require that all foreign food facilities acquire a U.S. resident agent in charge. For an additional charge of $199, RLS will serve as agent to foreign facilities therefore ensuring your compliance. As agent in charge, RLS will also serve as the point of contact with the Food and Drug Administration.
Use code #IDFA350 when registering to receive the IDFA discount. Companies with more than 10 facilities are eligible for an additional discount. For more information, and special codes for multiple facility discounts, please contact Ellen Brophy at ebrophy@idfa.org or (202) 220-3527.
