IDFA Webinar on Dairy and Juice HACCP for the Dairy Industry
Thursday, May 8, 2008 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern time
Wednesday, May 14, 2008 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern time
IDFA's HACCP Webinar Series will supply you and your staff with the practical application, examples and forms you need to produce compliant and effective HACCP programs for your products. The two short sessions, "Internal HACCP Verification, Validation and Records Systems" and "Preparing for an SQF Audit," will be interactive, allowing for participants questions, and each session will include a hands-on exercises.
These sessions are the second in a series of webinars that IDFA has adapted from its outstanding "Advanced Dairy & Juice HACCP Workshop." They will provide practical dairy and juice HACCP training for dairy plant HACCP teams, plant personnel and their managers that can be easily accessed via phone and computer from the workplace or dairy plant.
Why Should I Participate?
All dairy plants today maintain a HACCP program to address some or all of their products. It is important to understand regulatory, buyer and consumer expectations regarding HACCP and the SQF program in order to develop and maintain a fully functioning and useful HACCP program.
A fully functioning HACCP program takes constant nurturing and periodic updating to produce improvements in product safety and quality and to reduce product defects and market withdrawals. The nurturing and maintenance of a plant's HACCP program is the responsibility of a well trained HACCP-support team. By learning the HACCP system developed by IDFA, your company's HACCP team can make improvements, streamline corporate HACCP efforts and reduce costs through improved management of the processing operation.
IDFA Webinar Session 1 Internal HACCP Verification, Validation and Records Systems
Thursday, May 8, 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern time
This session will provide a practical approach for the plant's HACCP team to properly evaluate the written and implemented HACCP system in the plant, using sound verification and validation techniques. It will also demonstrate how to build a manageable record-keeping system for your plant's HACCP Program. Although this session builds on the 2007 IDFA Webinar on Prerequisite programs and the HACCP Plan, participation in the 2007 IDFA HACCP Webinar is not a requirement for this program.
IDFA Webinar Session 2 Preparing for an SQF Audit
Wednesday, May 14, 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern time
The second session will cover the emergence of "Safe Quality Foods" (SQF), an organized food safety and quality system that is being used by more and more dairy customers to ensure their purchases are safe and meet national and international certification standards. SQF is based on HACCP with a number of enhancements. It is important that all dairy plants adapt their existing HACCP programs to meet the fundamental requirements of SQF. This session will review the most important parts of SQF 2000 and provide practical advice on how to successfully navigate an SQF audit by SQF-certified third-party auditors.
How Does the IDFA Webinar Work?
The IDFA Webinar features a series of short seminars conducted via conference call and online presentation. You'll listen to the presenter via the call, while viewing the slides online. Our presenters will be able to highlight important points and answer questions via the Internet. These seminars will be offered in a series format covering two topics over a two-week period.
This series will run for two consecutive weeks, starting on Thursday, May 8, 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern time, for the first session and Wednesday, May 14, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Eastern time, for the second session. Registration for the webinar provides you access to both sessions.
Each webinar session is two hours in duration, with 90 minutes allotted for the presentation and 30 minutes for a question-and-answer period. The seminar is delivered over the telephone for reliable and clear sound quality. PowerPoint presentations may be accessed online during the seminar. All slides from the presentations can be easily downloaded for future reference. The question-and-answer session provides an opportunity for you to ask questions as well as hear questions relating to issues that you may be currently facing or will face in the future.
