Consumer Safety & Raw Milk

Raw Milk for Sale sign

All milk intended for direct consumption should be pasteurized—it's a matter of food safety.

The dairy industry, the Centers for Disease Control and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recommend that no one consume unpasteurized milk. In fact, many states have banned the sale of raw (unpasteurized) milk, and federal law prohibits the retail sale of unpasteurized milk across state borders.
