IDFA Provides Talking Points on H1N1 Flu Virus
IDFA has received calls from member companies asking for guidance on the H1N1 flu virus, formerly referred to as swine flu, and its impact on the dairy supply chain. Working with members, IDFA developed a series of talking points to help answer questions from customers and employees. To provide more information, IDFA added to its website a widget that links to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention web page on H1N1. Another resource is www.Dairyresponse.com, a website for the dairy community on animal health and disease outbreaks, which now features H1N1 updates and links to authoritative information.
In addition, IDFA's work with the Food and Agriculture Sector Coordinating Council (FASCC) keeps staff in daily contact with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies. Through FASCC, IDFA has 24-hour access to information.
