Dairy Export Incentive Program

The Dairy Export Incentive Program (DEIP) pays cash bonuses that allow dairy product exporters to buy at U.S. prices and sell abroad at lower international prices. It has not been used significantly because commercial dairy exports have grown over the past decade.

As part of its overall dairy policy recommendations for the 2012 Farm Bill, IDFA calls for the federal government to eliminate DEIP.
