IDFA Urges Adoption of Proposals to Amend Federal Order Regulations

As a follow-up to testimony presented at a federal order hearing held in May, IDFA urged the U.S. Department of Agriculture to adopt only the proposals to eliminate the producer-handler exemption and to eliminate small plants from regulation. IDFA and the National Milk Producers Federation testified in support of these two proposals at the hearing. IDFA Chief Economist Bob Yonkers noted in the brief that the hearing record clearly supports the adoption by USDA of those changes. The complete post-hearing brief is available to members below. For more information, contact Yonkers at byonkers@idfa.org or (202) 220-3511.
