Ice Cream Food Safety 101 Webinar

Overview

Following several high-profile incidences of ice cream contamination with the pathogen Listeria monocytogenes over the past year, the ice cream industry is now coming under closer scrutiny by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is happening just as FDA is releasing its regulations on preventive controls for human food, which go into force starting in just twelve short months. To help the industry prepare for both of these realities, the International Dairy Foods Association is holding an Ice Cream Food Safety 101 webinar on November 10, 2015. This webinar will provide a review of the fundamental food safety programs and practices that are essential for any ice cream manufacturer.

Perfect as an introductory course for new plant-level employees or a refresher course for seasoned professionals with years of experience, this must-attend IDFA food safety webinar offers an opportunity for ice cream plant personnel to get up-to-speed on good manufacturing practices (GMPs), cleaning, sanitation and hygiene control.

This webinar will be presented by fellow food safety professionals from the Schwan Food Company who have many years of experience working across a variety of food product platforms. Our speakers will share tried-and-true techniques that have proven effective in controlling pathogens and producing safe, high quality ice cream.

The Schwan Food Company is a multibillion-dollar private company with more than 14,000 subsidiary employees worldwide. Based out of Marshall, Minnesota, the company sells fine frozen foods, including ice cream and a wide range of other food products, on its traditional delivery trucks, in grocery-store freezers and in the food-service industry.
