2010 Milk Procurement Workshop
March 16-17, 2010
Hyatt Regency Rosemont | Rosemont, IL
QUICK LINKS:
Overview
IDFA's Milk Procurement Workshop is designed to provide an in-depth look at the structure of the dairy industry and how dairy pricing mechanisms work. Taught by Bob Yonkers Ph.D., IDFA vice president & chief economist, the workshop will provide dairy industry professionals with a fundamental knowledge of all regulatory pricing mechanisms and show how these mechanisms affect company operations in today's marketplace.
The intended audience for the workshop includes milk processors, cheese makers, frozen dessert marketers, butter manufacturers, nonfat dry milk manufacturers and others working in the dairy industry.
During the first part of the Milk Procurement Workshop, attendees will receive a broader understanding of the dairy industry, including what milk is, how milk is marketed and distributed, dairy product production and consumption, and the many dairy policies that control and affect these processes. The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to a discussion of how milk and other dairy products are priced, both inside and outside of the Federal Milk Marketing Order System. The workshop will review how the different components of milk, including nonfat solids and butterfat, are priced and where those prices come from. The workshop also will introduce participants to risk management options available to the dairy industry.
Detailed knowledge of our industry and the federal order system is vital to all dairy professionals. If you and your staff need to learn the nuts and bolts of the dairy industry and milk pricing, or simply need a refresher course, this workshop is designed for you. Don't miss this once-a-year opportunity. Space is limited, so register today!
