In response to member demand, IDFA is once again pleased to present the Dairy Product Labeling Webinar Series in an all-new, three-session format.

Dairy company staff must know the specific requirements of labeling dairy foods to avoid the waste and costly fines that result from mislabeling! IDFA's Dairy Product Labeling Webinar Series will provide you and your staff with the information you need to produce compliant and effective labels for your products. The three sessions -- Introduction to Labeling, Nutrition Labeling and Claims and Labeling Hot Topics -- will be interactive, allowing for participants' questions.

Labeling 101 - An Introduction to Dairy Product Labeling

This webinar will give you a general overview of dairy labeling regulations. It will provide an overview of the history and jurisdiction for labeling regulations, requirements for the statement of identity, net quantity of contents statements, ingredient declarations and allergens labeling,. It will also define labeling terms and symbols such as Grade "A," the Real Seal and kosher.

IDFA Webinar Seminar #2:
Nutrition Labeling and Claims

1:00 - 3:00 p.m. EST

This webinar will cover the basics of nutrition labeling, including various nutrition facts formats, required and voluntary nutrients and calculating serving sizes. The regulations governing nutrient content claims, health claims and structure-function claims will also be addressed.

Hot Topics: Organic Labeling, rbST Claims, Front of Package Labeling and Proposed Future Labeling Regulations

The final webinar in the series will cover the basics of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Organic Program requirements and labeling guidelines for natural and rbST claims. Finally, it will look forward to possible future labeling changes such as allergen advisory statements, omega-3 and gluten-free claims.

1. When is the Dairy Product Labeling Webinar Series being held?
The series will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010, Wednesday, October 20, 2010, and Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. EST.

2. What is an IDFA Webinar?
An IDFA Webinar is a series of short seminars conducted via conference call and online presentation. You'll listen to the presenter via the call, while viewing the slides online. Our presenters will be able to highlight important points and answer questions via the Internet. These seminars will be offered in a series format covering three sessions during one week.

This series will run for three, two-hour sessions. Registration for the Webinar Series provides you access to all three sessions.

The seminars are delivered over the telephone for reliable and clear sound quality. PowerPoint presentations will be accessed online during the seminars. All slides from the presentations can be easily downloaded for future reference. The question-and-answer session provides an opportunity for you to ask questions as well as hear questions relating to issues that you may be currently facing or facing in the future.

3. Why is the Dairy Product Labeling Webinar series of more value than others being offered?
This webinar focuses solely on dairy products and the unique labeling requirements for dairy, such as rbST claims Grade "A" requirements and nutrient content claims . The webinar format helps attendees avoid travel costs and minimize time away from the office.

4. Who participates in the Dairy Product Labeling Webinar series?
This series is useful for regulatory and labeling staff who deal with labeling on a daily basis as well as those who may not deal with labeling on a regular basis, but need to understand labeling regulations, such as legal, research and development, quality assurance and sales and marketing staff.

5. What is the schedule for the Dairy Product Labeling Webinar series?
The agenda with program and activities schedule is available online. Please note that the program schedule is subject to change.

6. What if I have technical difficulties trying to log on to the webinar or during the webinar?

7. How do I register for the Dairy Product Labeling Webinar series?
The fastest and easiest way to register is online.

8. What is the registration fee?
The Dairy Product Labeling Webinar series registration fee is based on membership. If you are a member, the registration fee is $495, and if you are not a member, the fee is $595. If you have questions about membership, send an email to membership@idfa.org.

9. What does my registration fee include?
Your registration fee includes access to the webinar slides on all three days. All registered attendees will receive a $50 discount on the purchase of a new Labeling Manual. To purchase your labeling manual, complete our publications order form and email it to Jessica Lee at jlee@idfa.org or send by fax (202) 331-7820. For more information on our labeling manuals please visit our online store.

10. Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation for your registration via email or fax. It will contain detailed information about this year's Dairy Product Labeling Webinar series.

11. What is the registration cancellation/refund policy?
Full refunds will be granted for written cancellations received up to three weeks before the webinar. Cancellations received by October 12, 2010 will be eligible for a 50 percent refund. No refunds will be granted after October 12, 2010. All cancellations must be received in writing. Substitutions may be made without penalty.
