SQF Certified Practitioner Workshop for Dairy and Juice Products

June 29-30, 2010

Offices of Dairy Management Inc. | Rosemont, IL

QUICK LINKS:

OverviewAllen Sayler

Trainer: Allen Sayler, Vice President, IDFA

Note: Class Size Limited to the first 20 paid registrants.

The use of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) as a third party certification tool swept the U.S. food industry in 2008 and 2009. Continuing in 2010, the use of SQF is spreading to suppliers of the dairy industry. During this time many dairy plants had employees trained to be SQF-certified Practitioners. We now have almost two years of experience with SQF, its application to, implementation in and impact on the dairy industry. IDFA Vice President and SQF-Certified trainer Allen Sayler will lead IDFA's two-day SQF Practitioner Workshop on the implementation of the SQF 2000 Code, 6th Edition, which specifically targets the dairy and juice industry.

IDFA's SQF Certified Practitioner Workshop for Dairy and Juice Products utilizes the latest Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) training material, plus our own extensive experience with dairy and juice HACCP training, to provide comprehensive instruction on the implementation of SQF 2000 Code,6th Editionrequirements for dairy and juice processing plants.

The workshop is designed to meet the training and certification requirements established by SQFI for Certified Practitioners. Successful completion of this workshop will provide participants with a certificate attesting to their knowledge of the SQF 2000 Code and will prepare them to take and complete the SQFI On-line Practitioner test. Successful completion of this web-based test will result in official SQF Practitioner status and the granting of their SQF Practitioner certificate with unique Practitioner number. All dairy and juice plants are required to have at least one SQF Practitioner on-staff (two are recommended due to vacation, illness, job changes) to be responsible for oversight of the SQF written program, implementation of that program, training of production staff and interacting with SQF auditors to successfully attain plant SQF certification or recertification.

SQF is one of five food safety and auditing systems that are recognized by the independent Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and are being mandated by many U.S. food retailers for their primary food suppliers. These primary food suppliers are in turn mandating SQF certification for their food ingredient and packaging suppliers.

Who Should Participate

This is a must attend event for all dairy plants and industry suppliers who are looking to establish or upgrade their SQF program! The workshop materials are tailored specifically for employees who are responsible for plant or corporate SQF teams, including managers, production and sanitation supervisors, production and sanitation shift supervisors, quality, assurance/quality control managers, laboratory supervisors, distribution and warehouse supervisors, plant engineers, preventive maintenance staff and HACCP teams.

Resources You'll Receive

Participants will receive a training manual with all the PowerPoint presentations from the workshop, light homework, two workbooks to be completed in class and other resources as well as a certificate of completion.
