IDFA's Dairy Industry Safety Recognition Awards

Honoring U.S. Dairy Facilities for Excellent Worker Safety

Co-sponsored by IDFA and Dairy Field Reports

Now in its seventh year, IDFA's Dairy Industry Safety Recognition Awards program highlights the outstanding worker-safety records of U.S. dairy companies based on data from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports for the previous calendar year. Processing facilities are judged in four product categories: natural and processed cheese; dry, condensed and evaporated products; ice cream and frozen desserts; and fluid milk. Trucking operations will receive certificates for having no lost days and no cases involving job transfers or restrictions.

The entry period for this year is now closed. The awards will be displayed at IDFA's International Dairy Show, September 13-15, in Dallas.

A list of 2009 award winners is available here. Questions about the awards can be directed to Clay Detlefsen at cdetlefsen@idfa.org, (202) 220-3554.
