IDFA Research Award in Dairy Foods Processing
Honoring Outstanding Achievements in Dairy Science
This prestigious award is presented to leading researchers in the field of dairy science to recognize those whose findings have allowed processors to develop new products and to make significant improvements in the quality, safety or processing efficiency of dairy foods.
Kathryn Boor, dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University, was named the 2011 recipient of the IDFA Research Award in Dairy Foods Processing. Boor has made outstanding contributions through her integrated extension and research programs in dairy microbiology quality and safety, which are dedicated to improving dairy product shelf life, wholesomeness and safety through reduction of spoilage and pathogenic bacteria. She received the award during the American Dairy Science Association's annual meeting in July.
